Secret Computer Rooms at USydSick of crowds at McGrath and time limits at Fisher. Not to mention those evil "mirage" computers which are always free but then it turns out it's just intranet. Here are some secret troves, where once you step upon them twinkling Zelda music will play and you'll do a backflip before doing a "peace sign" towards the camera.
Get High in Fisher
Your first quest is a mountain voyage. You'll go up high into the stacks to level 7. If you start seeing lime green flashing before you, it's not vertigo, it will be your first clue:
Turn right, go along the corridor, turn right again and you'll see some computers.
Now i've never actually used these computers, but the climb itself will be worth the dramatic view of UTS (the cause of this bad weather).
Education Basement
No, it's not the entire UWS, it's in the Education building. Go inside, you'll see a stairway leading down DOWN DOWN opposite you. The dungeon is full of beautiful education students who are trained to be friendly young teachers who somewhere along the line mutate into bitter, crusty librarians. Turn left and into the blue (literally) and there it sits, often with free spaces.
Language Labs
This one is very hard to find. NOT because it's particularly tricky to get to, just because it's opposite Manning Bar. Bring a battering ram and fire to get rid of beggars/student electionteers plus maybe a peg so the scent of beer doesn't waft you in the errant direction.
Then go inside through the lazy doors that open for you and turn right.

Follow the hallway, past the notice boards, consider taking up a Chinese/English language exchange on the noticeboards then you'll see it.

It often has spaces free, either in this room or Lab 1 opposite it. However from
12am to
2pm, it can get crowded. It also comes free with some random French woman who randomly comes in and shouts at you if you leave your bags unattended.
HINT: The computers are a bit close together, so avoid one where everyone will be pushing past you every few seconds.
What other hidden computer rooms do you frequent? Add a comment...
