Sydney Spy Classic
Town Hall Square Gang Warfare.
Here's another award-wage winning movie from Sydney Spy. This time it's a tenderly-constructed love story about hope and walking, set on the backdrop of violent gang war. It's FULL of celebrities but it's hard to make them out. There's Angelina Jolie, Sean Penn, Charlize Theron and Donna Gubbay to name a few. It's the urban ballet that took 200 takes and is all completely choreographed.
Three opposing sides combined, marching in unison separately. Each walking to the beat of their own drum but all walking to Russian trance music. In a heinous university analysis, they would represent America. Amid the confusion, all it takes is one man. One brave citizen with the courage to run with a lawn-mower looking thing after the red-man stopped flashing. But the red man still flashes, inside his lawn-mower and inside his heart. He mows away the invisible grass to create an even more urbanised society and leaves only invisible shreddings as a constant reminder. He stops the gang-warfare but perhaps it was only to start something bigger. In a tragic university dissection, he would represent America. The white lines (allegoric for America) on the road are pointless to these ants who for the next minute OWN the road while the cars must wait patiently.
