Marcia Hines could barely contain her glee upon the announcement of Kate's win.
Kate DeAraugo/DeRouge, the winged contestant of Australian Idol, will surely prove wrong, both Marcia and all those who deem her a chubby chain-smoking shazza. Kate's response to Marcia's palpable facial criticism was to jerk her neck to the side, open her eyes too wide then lean her head back for a big note and extend a limpish hand.. as she always does while performing. Apparently Kate wasn't enough of a single mother minority to earn Marcia's approval.
She'll be sure to break chart records and narrow drawbridge planks wherever she goes.
