Sydney Spy Classic
This is one of the best places in Sydney to meet someone. It's a conspicuous landmark that's close to everything, so whether native or tourist, senile or unborn, everyone knows how to get there. If you want to make an exchange or meet a blind date, Town Hall is the place to be or avoid.. depending on whether the other person holding a pink corsage is dressed like a pirate.
Once when I was there, I was asked "Hey, are you Sean?", I was so tempted to play along. When waiting there for someone, it's fun to make up lives for all the people around you. All the diverse characters with their own existences. It passes the time until your friend who forgot about daylight savings finally arrives.2) These two concerned girls are recommending a good chiropractor for their friend with the massive red backpack. She's been complaining about disc-slips at age 16.
3) This girl just received a text message from her internet lover. They're meeting for the first time today.
4) Isn't actually a van, it's the girl's (3) internet lover. His favourite sport is injecting liquid cheese into the rims of pizzas.
5) These two don't even know each other. She's just imploring him to put his hat in that garbage bag.
6) He's actually busking. By sitting stationary within a busy city he's making a huge ironic and didactic statement against our contemporary society's dependence on machines. Subtle, no?
7) A long hug goodbye. She's leaving for Paris for a month... THREE DAYS AGO.
8) He's doing a street theatre performance called "Man In Suit Talking On Phone"
9) She's not walking, she was standing in that awkward position until she could remember what she actually wanted to buy from Woolies.
10) He was trying to push down that pole but since he couldn't, he very nonchalantly acts like all he was trying to do was lean against it.
Look here at these two..
They weren't in real life, but doesn't it look like they're Irish dancing in sync? The girl at the bottom laughing behind her hand strengthens this possibility. The two guys on the ledge pretending that they don't see them helps it too.
If you're eager to see criminals, you can see them at Town Hall as well! Sometimes, you'll see people in handcuffs being led to awaiting police cars.
