Sydney Spy Classic
The Sydney Harbour Bridge, from its less seen angle. Unlike the underbellies of other bridges, the only seedy happenings here are the rich plant life. On the city side, there's the beautiful Darling Harbour and the.. international vendorishly Circular Quay. Darling Harbour has crazy expensive hotels most of us couldn't afford if we died and inherited our own life insurance money. The view is worth it though. It's sensational so just take a good and free walk around The Rocks instead. Especially at night when everything becomes romantic. The non-city side features Milson's Point and the incessantly protested Luna Park. It's also gratuitously beautiful... but in reverse. When you're under the bridge, a heavy shadow pours from its majestic source, clearly landmarking its territory. The sound of traffic roars above like an iconic 73 year old steel-arched lion having traffic driven over its 1.1 km back. A fusion of nature and grand architecture erupts within and as you're transcending to an alternate post-modern realm of enlightenment, a realisation dawns. It dawns like the Sun at dawn dawning... it's just a bridge, a great bridge, and it's a hellava lot better than Melbourne's equivalent... The Yarra Overpass?? The Flinders Street Above-Marine Tram-Line?!? I don't know...
Under the bridge? I love that song! Add a comment..
