Chatswood. Also known as Chatswong or Chatty (pron. CHAD-DEE). It's a popular destination for tweens who enjoy that Hoyts, KFC, General Pants Co. and McDonalds are all under one roof and in very close proximity. Every day is multicultural day in Chatswood as the sight of colourful food stalls and the overpowering scent of coconut milk are the first things you experience after stepping off the bus.
The library's specialty is the foreign language section, many shops list everything in Chinese, there's even a whole complex called "Mandarin Centre". Not saying this is bad, the asian supermarket, Jusco (next to Hoyts), has some great products though it also has some really strange ones. Like this mayonnaise
I guess great great grandpa and my aunt's unborn foetus will have to pass on the coleslaw tonight.
Chatty's a great place where many big brand shops are close together and weather is not a hinderance. It's also a convenient place to buy $2 CD singles. Interestingly, there are some corners of Westfield where they don't even seem to bother to keep the power running. Dark angsty corners where all the neglected shops live amid an otherwise bustling shopping centre. Though somehow, Tandy Electronics still manages to have its monophonic Casio rendition of "It's A Small World" playing non-stop out front.
