Sydney is a wonderful city and that's not just compared with Melbourne. I've lived here all my life and my therefore unbiased opinion is that it's a brilliant place. Monuments such as The Opera House, The Sydney Harbour Bridge and the harbour in general have given Sydney global fame. When foreigners think of Australia they'll think of Sydney. They certainly won't think of the Yarra river or Adelaide's brown tap water.

However, there is a lot more to Sydney than just bridges and water. There is a unique culture that can't easily be described in a book. Much of this culture applies to the rest of Australia but much is also distinctly Sydney. This blog will have plenty of pictures too, so be careful if you live in Sydney because anyone holding a camera, camera-phone, camera-spatula etc. could be me or one of my spies about to borrow your image. Also, I attend The University of Sydney doing a non-Law, Medicine, Media or Engineering degree. It's also a fascinating place with a distinct culture and will be discussed frequently.

I'll teach you what you can't learn in "Lonely Planet: Guide to Down Under" and for free (though there will be a $500 union fee)
